Kuto Besak Fort
Kuto Besak Fort built over 17 years, starting in 1780 and officially inaugurated  by Monday on February   21, 1797. 
Kuto Besak Fort originally the  palace  which  is  building into the 18th  century became the center ofthe Sultanate of Palembang. Kuto Besak Fort established the  idea came from first Sultan Mahmud Badarudin  who reigned in the years 1724-1758, but only realized when it was ruled by Sultan Muhamad Badarudin the Sultanate of  Palembang who reigned in the years 1776-1803

Besides known as a leading figure in the field of trade of the earth, Sultan      Mahmud Badarudin is also the one who made the clerical city of Palembang as the   religious center of Islam in the archipelago. In the era of his rule,his Kuto Lamo Palace  move to Kuto Besak .The Dutch called the Nieuwe for Kuto Besak New Palace or Kraton

B. Features
Religious Tourism firm with a long-standing 288.75 meters and 183.75 meters wide  The height of the fortress was 9.99 meters (30 feet) with a thickness of 1.99     meters (6 feet) On every corner there bastion fort (fort Defense ) but there is   one bastion located on the northwest corner of the fort form a third larger than  the other bastion. Third bastion of the same form is typical of Religious Tourism

East side, South, West and there are                                   
Kuto Besak Fort entrance. Main entrance facing the river Musi Kuto called mace,   while the other entrance gate is called the stern.

C. Location

Kuto Besak Fort is located in the central city of Palembang, South Sumatra        Province, precisely located on the north side of Musi River. The area is bounded  by the River Sekanak located on the west, the River Tengkuruk located on the east, and north of the River chalky
